At the time, all I had was a key-captcha webpage <a href=\"http:\/\/joshho.com\/apps\/keyCaptcha\">here<\/a>\u00a0that utilized captchas to prevent key farming by bots.<\/p>\n<p>After investigating what existed, I found python script &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bitbucket.org\/kurtschwarz\/reddit-promotion-bot\">code here<\/a>\u00a0 &#8211; that had successfully distributed 50,000 keys. This script required you had python and additional imports installed.<\/p>\n<p>I was then interested to see if I could write something that others could get started in 1-2 minutes. I ended up whipping up a prototype tool written in javascript\/php <a href=\"http:\/\/redditpromo.joshho.com\">here<\/a> within a day of that email.<\/p>\n<p>Getting back to cadenzainteractive, using my tool, they successfully delivered 4,000 steam keys on reddit:\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/redd.it\/ve7dj\">http:\/\/redd.it\/ve7dj<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Try it <a href=\"http:\/\/redditpromo.joshho.com\">here<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Notes: \u00a0The program uses the reddit API to reply back to unread messages from reddit users requesting a key.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Some thoughts:<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; XSS problem with AJAX, as you may be familiar, one cannot simply request data from another domain due to security issues.
